Almay One Coat Dial up Mascara

Since seeing a dial up mascara in the Avon book, I have been curious to try a mascara that lets you dial up the finished look.  When I came across Almay Dial up mascara going for a quid, I couldn’t resist and had to give it a go.

According to their description “Adjustable dial allows you to take your lashes from full to fuller to fullest, providing the customised look you want in just one coat of mascara. Molded brush separates and defines every lash while quick building volumising formula applies evenly and easily. Clump free.”

I am still not sure how this works exactly, but I think depending on the number that is chosen, it loads the brush with required amount of mascara.  So is it any good or is this just a gimmick and is there any difference between the 1, 2 and 3?

Lashes on dial 1
The mascara is not thick, which is both a good and bad thing.  Good because it’s not likely to clump, bad because it’s not likely to give your lashes a lot of volume and mean that you have to apply a lot of coats.

I used it on number one and even as a daytime look, didn’t like it, the look was too natural for me, and as I like to make a bold statement when I wear mascara, so this wouldn’t work for me.  Dial 2 is also not enough for me, but no.3.. well that’s when things starts to get interesting.

Turned up on full dial and I have to say I like the look, fuller looking lashes plenty of length and volume, while still looking natural.  I did have to apply another two coats before I was happy with the look.

I really like this mascara, I didn’t know what to expect and didn’t have high expectations, but I was really impressed

The mascara gives me nice fuller lashes, didn’t clump and the brush is excellent, probably the best thing about the mascara was the brush it distributes the mascara without clumping the lashes and it’s also flexible.

It also picked up the difficult to coat lashes in the corner of my eyes. Very good mascara, you have to use a few coats but it doesn’t clump and at the end of the day it’s only a pound!!! What a bargain!!!
